Co-facilitated with the Middle School team in Wake County, North Carolina, this workshop supported content-area teachers in embedding meaningful writing experiences across disciplines. Participants explored practical, high-impact instructional strategies to help students develop both content-specific and transdisciplinary writing skills, from analytical responses in science to evidence-based arguments in social studies. Through collaborative planning, modeling, and peer exchange, teachers identified opportunities to integrate writing as a tool for deeper thinking, not just assessment. The session emphasized scaffolding, feedback, and authentic purpose, equipping educators with adaptable approaches to strengthen student voice, clarity, and critical thinking across the curriculum.
